The Lane Country district attorney’s office says Masoli and former Oregon receiver Garrett Embry were each charged Wednesday with one count of burglary in the second degree.

Terrence Cody showed NFL teams he had the willpower to shed excess pounds, while Rolando McClain demonstrated his willingness to push through health issues. Mount Cody, a two-time All-America nose guard, weighed in at 349 pounds at Alabama’s pro day on Wednesday with representatives from all 32 NFL teams present.

Star OT Campbell passes on Terps pro day (AP)

While 11 of his former University of Maryland teammates pressed to make an impression on NFL scouts, offensive tackle Bruce Campbell smiled for the television cameras and happily answered questions from reporters. Campbell had nothing left to prove after running the 40-yard dash in an impressive 4.85 seconds and bench-pressing 225 pounds 34 times last month in Indianapolis at the NFL combine.

Ducks RB James to appear in court Friday (AP)

Oregon running back LaMichael James, who set a Pac-10 freshman record with more than 1,500 yards rushing last season, is scheduled to appear Friday at a change-of-plea hearing on domestic violence charges. James previously pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges of menacing, strangulation and assault.

Texas, Maryland get reprieve on new rule (AP)

The NCAA has given Texas and Maryland a one-year reprieve from a new rule that limits off-campus football recruiting by a coach designated as the head coach-in-waiting. That will allow Texas defensive coordinator Will Muschamp and Maryland offensive coordinator James Franklin to fully participate in the critical spring evaluation period in April and May.

Stanford hires Hamilton as WRs coach (AP)

Stanford has hired former Chicago Bears assistant Pep Hamilton as its new wide receivers coach. Coach Jim Harbaugh announced the move on Tuesday. Hamilton had spent the past three seasons as quarterbacks coach for the Bears. He also was an assistant in the NFL for San Francisco and the New York Jets. Hamilton began his coaching career at Howard University, where he starred as a college quarterback.

Swarbrick: Irish could lose independence (AP)
